Service Desk Engineer

We are adding a member to our Service Desk Team. The ideal candidate for this position is a person who is driven by going the distance to conquer technical problems. You are an articulate, confident, organized and experienced technical expert with strong technical acumen and a professional presence. You are adept at working with customers to solve technical issues while managing expectations along the way with your superior communication skills.

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Service Desk Engineer’s primary role is to drive technical issues to resolution while managing client expectations throughout the technical support lifecycle.

POSITION SUMMARY:

This position will be a key member of the service desk team, working with customers, vendors, peers and superiors to ensure the continued success of SisAdmin technical support services. SisAdmin engineers are personable, dedicated, flexible, reliable and proactive and are subject matter experts in Microsoft Windows technologies.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provide service desk support for client networks via phone, email and/or remote connection, covering all systems from desktops to servers to network equipment.

· Work with clients to respond to, document, and resolve inbound technical support requests

· Ensure that client’s system needs are met, and escalated when necessary

· Work to maintain client systems and documentation

· Develop and maintain Microsoft enterprise technologies knowledge and experience

· Documentation of activities and timekeeping

ABILITIES:

· Excellent relationship management, customer service, and communication skills and a confident, can-do attitude.

· Ability to quickly and accurately assess the technical aspects of a problem

· Ability to work independently with little direct supervision and as part of a team

· Passion for resolving customer issues and advocating for their success

· Translate tech-speak to the client’s level of knowledge

· Ability to follow checklists and standard operating procedures

· Ability to identify and communicate customer satisfaction issues and technical escalations

· Ability to report metrics and be accountable for meeting goals

· Regular time entry and service ticket updates

· Maintain education and advanced level knowledge of the Microsoft business stack, network infrastructure, and related technologies

· Excellent written and oral communication skills

· Customer service orientation, strong technical aptitude, team player, and sound judgement are character traits that are essential for this position

· Support a range of needs, from individual user desktop questions to server and network issues

QUALIFICATIONS (Preferred):

· 3+ years in a mid-level or senior technical support role

· 1+ years’ experience in the areas of systems administration, network administration, professional services or related discipline

· 3+ years’ experience and expertise in core Microsoft product stack, including Windows Server, Windows Workstation, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy, etc.

· Experience supporting the Microsoft Office 365 product stack

· Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills

· Intermediate networking knowledge

· Experience supporting a variety of line of business applications and demonstrated ability to work with 3rd party vendors

· Experience troubleshooting desktop and server hardware, desktop peripherals, printers

· Experience supporting mobile devices running iOS and Android

Technical Strategist / Adviser / Consultant: vCIO

We are adding a technology strategist and adviser to our team. In our world, we call this position a virtual Chief Information Officer or vCIO. The ideal candidate for this position is a person with an entrepreneurial mindset that can “think like a business owner”. You will become an extension of our clients’ executive team and identify, articulate and propose technology solutions that aide our clients in leveraging their technology to differentiate from the competition. You are an articulate, confident, organized and experienced technical expert with strong technical acumen and a professional presence. You are adept at aligning technical improvements and innovations with business goals and objectives.

In this role you will be interacting with business owners, executives and decision makers on a regular basis. You will be reviewing a consistent flow of incoming information that gives you all the information you need to partner with our internal technical team to assess the health and wellbeing of your assigned clients’ business networks. You will have a direct and dramatic impact on influencing your assigned clients’ technology decisions, strategy and budget.

Successful candidates are able to integrate with our clients’ businesses and serve as a valuable, integral business resource. You will understand their goals, challenges and opportunities and make improvements and recommendations that aid them in either accomplishing or overcoming them.

Core responsibilities include:

o Establishing and conducting regular communication and outreach activities that facilitate a tight integration between SisAdmin and client executives, business owners, and/or decision makers with the main purpose of identifying business risks and technical needs that align with business goals and objectives. This integration is accomplished by:

o Regular technology strategy, summary, planning and consulting meetings.

o Regular communication and outreach activities and touchpoints.

o Developing and maintaining a deep knowledge of clients’ business operations and technology.

o Review of technical information gathered by technical engineers.

o Identifying technical and business risks in partnership with technical engineers.

o Partnering with technical staff to evaluate and recommend new software, hardware and/or upgrades that align with business goals and objectives.

o Managing the priority and sequence of technical solutions that have been approved for implementation.

o Verifying the completion of approved technical solutions.

o Other duties as assigned.

In order to be successful in this role you must have:

o Advanced to intermediate level knowledge of the Microsoft business stack, network infrastructure, and related technologies.

o Ability to review detailed technical information and identify business risks that should be taken forward to the client.

o Ability to understand clients’ business needs, goals, and strategy and make sound technical decisions and recommendations in support thereof.

o Strong client service skills and a confident, can-do attitude.
